|
As an independent winegrower, Casal da Coelheira only makes wines with its own grapes, controlling all stages of the process, from the vineyard to the finished bottles. The winery at Tramagal is a Portuguese traditional facility with a combination of timeless architecture and massive white and yellow walls. Winemaking history in Ribatejo Province (which means "banks of the Tejo") dates back to 1170 when the quality wines were well appreciated by the first king of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques. |

Tasting Notes:
Mythos is produced from the best grapes from our oldest vines, which reach 35 years of age – around 2% of the total vineyard area. After fermenting all varieties separately , they stage for 12 to 14 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels. It is a modern wine of high concentration, rich in floral aromas and intense in flavors of ripe and candied red fruits. With a robust structure, it presents great volume, solid tannins , transmitting dimension and exuberance.
When stored, it will gain complexity with 8 to 10 years in the bottle, but it is perfect for drinking , and is preferable for richer meals , such as lamb or red game dishes.
