Vinho Regional Tejo Tramagal, Portugal | Maps 39.44968,-8.25077 Located at parallel 39 North and benefiting from mediterranean climate, the Casal da Coelheira Estate winery is now home to some innovative wines inside Tagus River (Tejo) wine region. With long extreme summers, and cold wet winters, what makes Quinta do Casal da Coelheira so special is the Iberian Tagus river, the floods and the climate influence. |
|
As an independent winegrower, Casal da Coelheira only makes wines with its own grapes, controlling all stages of the process, from the vineyard to the finished bottles. The winery at Tramagal is a Portuguese traditional facility with a combination of timeless architecture and massive white and yellow walls. Winemaking history in Ribatejo Province (which means "banks of the Tejo") dates back to 1170 when the quality wines were well appreciated by the first king of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques. |
